Netis Jitterbug known as Pi passes her health checks and confirmation

As you can imagine I am very pleased that Pi has passed her health checks for breeding.

Her hips have been scored with a result of 4 :4 and her elbows scored with a 0 :0  result.

She has passed her eye test so has a clear eye certificate dated June 2015.

This lovely girl with her beautiful markings has just been to France to be confirmed, we attended a 2 day show in Douai and on the first day we were lucky to be judged by the very knowledgeable Monsieur Dupas who placed Pi as Best Junior.

Pi enjoying the limelight.

On the same day Pi was able to take the TAN  ( water retrieve/sociability test) with several other Barbets, once again we were lucky as Monsieur Goubie another expert judge was overseeing the test and I am pleased to say. Pi passed with flying colours.
The last couple of months have been a social whirl for Pi, she had the joy of playing with the pups from Martha and Ooli, The London Pet show, Hips, elbows and eyes done, a weekend in France at the show, and a working test........after all her engagements she then had her hair cut which you can see in the photo at the top of the page.
The details for her 'husband to be' will be published shortly,

Barbet dogs in the UK

Although I have far too many emails to read and phone calls to make, as I am still catching up after 8 weeks of puppies, I just felt the need to have a Barbet dog count.
This could be wrong, as not everyone will be in contact with the Barbet Club but at least these are the Barbets we know about.

We have 6 imported Barbets, 1 from France, 2 from Poland, 2 from Holland and 1 from Canada.
10 pups from Betsy
16 pups from Bepop.
9 pups from Ebene
12 pups from Dora

So we have at least 53 Barbets now living in the UK.

If you read this and you live in the UK and own a Barbet that has different parentage than the above then please get in touch so we can count you in as it would be good to have accurate numbers.

At my last count Betsy has 35 grandchildren,
Effie 8 puppies
Eton 27 puppies

Bepop has 30 grandchildren
Ooli (Dudley) 13 puppies
Dora 14 puppies
Duplo 3 puppies.

The next generation of breeding with Claude, Hallie, Martha and Hector will be very exciting for me, so far the health reports have been excellant, as Claude,Hallie and Hector all have A hips and you can't get better than that, Martha will have her hips scored at 12 months so fingers crossed and then just eye testing results to come.

Happy 7th Birthday

How time flies, here is a photo of Betsy at Nantes in France when we picked her up at 10 months old. A sad day for Nicole, but a happy day for us :). Betsy is 7 years old today, and she has produced some beautiful pups which have gone on to further the numbers of the breed not only in the UK but abroad.
So a big thank you to Nicole for trusting us with Betsy, and HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY:)

Cenzo the tolerant Spinone

I forgot this photo yesterday, the puppies just adore him and as he walked around he was rather like the pied piper.
Will he miss them? probably not, but the puppies will have very happy memories of this gentle spinone.

Barbet Puppy time at nearly 6 weeks

Two girls and a boy all reserved
A lovely visit yesterday at Annettes to see the puppies who will be 6 weeks on Thursday.
I know he is having a scratch but he remained still for a second! This chunky boy is reserved.

This boy is still available, he is very sweet and just loves the big dogs.

Barbet puppies at 5 weeks

The rain stopped and the 5 week old pups at Annettes were released into the bigger world of outside. When you see this photo you can't help but think they are longing for the next stage which is 'the field'.
Tomorrow I am going to see them again, so although I will say 'goodbye' to my temporary puppy residents, I will also get a few puppy cuddles with older pups. Having so much puppy time is almost as good as having my own, but it has made me realise its time for more puppies at the Preston house, its been far too long.

Caya the proud Father of 12

An up to date photo of Caya, the proud father of 12 pups born to Bepop in 2008. Caya lives near the beach in France, he loves the sea! Bepop and Caya met up in Le Blanc in 2009, they were so pleased to see each other again.
