How sweet
The 7 puppies will of course have DNA profiles, and for this litter I will also be confirming parentage just in case the son of Jedi, a beautiful boy called Deejee was successful and has sired a puppy or two. It is highly unlikely but it is better to check. Life would be easier if it were just down to the colours of the pups as to who the Dad was........I am still surprised at the ratio of brown puppies, The pups are gaining weight rapidly and are adorable.

Barbet puppies at 5 weeks
The rain stopped and the 5 week old pups at Annettes were released into the bigger world of outside. When you see this photo you can't help but think they are longing for the next stage which is 'the field'.
Tomorrow I am going to see them again, so although I will say 'goodbye' to my temporary puppy residents, I will also get a few puppy cuddles with older pups. Having so much puppy time is almost as good as having my own, but it has made me realise its time for more puppies at the Preston house, its been far too long.

Barbet puppies
How sweet is he? We had been calling him 'Roo' after Kanga and little Roo, but he is starting to behave more like a 'Rudi'. One day in the future I hope I will be in the situation that I can write his name given by his owners, it will be wonderful to see this boy as an adult. He has real charactor, he enjoys a cuddle after feeding whereas the little girl goes straight to sleep. Hand rearing these pups makes you realise how strong the instinct is to survive. I am trying to make sure that everything is as clean as possible, the bottles are sterilised and hands are washed continually. On a visit to the vet, both pups enjoyed sucking the vets tunic and of course they have been introduced to new germs just by moving house and living with 4 different dogs who are out in the forest walking.

Barbet Puppies in the UK soon
| Ebene (born in Canada) |
| Ooli (born in the UK) |
After a long wait for Barbet puppies in the UK I can now confirm a litter is expected on the 23rd March.
Congratulations to Annette Dinsdale who owns both these beautiful barbets.
For more details please contact Annette directly on netisspinone@sky.com
I am lucky as Annette lives near me, so I get a frequent dose of barbet fun with Ooli and Ebene, and I was lucky enough to take Ebene to Paris for the World Dog Show, camping with a barbet is a great way to bond!. Ebene is a fun loving dog, very feminine and has wonderful manners, I couldn't fault her behavior in Paris, she was a dream dog and did well in the show ring (she is a Canadian champion) with Excellent given by the judge. Ooli just loves life, and has just discovered 'flushing wild pheasants' which shows he is truly the Son of Bepop, As for showing in France, he has also been awarded excellant. Ebene and Ooli have both been confirmed in France. Real dedication to the breed by Annette, its still early days for the breed in the UK and the work and commitment at this stage is vital, the future is the next generation of puppies. These puppies will have French paperwork, hooray. .
