I have had a better week with Martha, although she is still off chicken!, but we have got her back on raw meat with no dire consequences. The pups have also developed a taste for raw chicken and goats milk and are on breakfast and evening meal at the moment, this is a messy time but at least Snoop is now helping out and Martha is very tolerant of the constant cleaning by Snoop!. Martha has been more relaxed over the other dogs being near her pups this time, but is just starting to show signs over being rather obsessed over keeping the pen clean, so we will wait and see although luckily I am allowed to clean up, just not visitors but maybe she just has good manners :).
Another milestone is that the pups are out of the whelping box and into a pen with a soft crate, which has also meant that they are not peeing in the crate which is a bonus. A couple of pups have been out in the garden already as it is warm today, so this week another pen will be under construction as love the pups outside in the fresh air. I am still catching up on emails, I almost feel as though I have been away for 4 weeks as I havent even opened all my post!. One of my next jobs is names.....it is the letter 'N' in France for registration so watch this space.

Martha and Murdoch puppies are 3 weeks old''

Gloves- the girl who is always looking for mischief and the most lively of the litter

Black girl- very gentle

This boy is wearing the green collar, biggest in the litter and very determined in his actions and always competing with ''Gloves'' to be on your lap

This boy wears the orange collar and is one of the quieter boys who loves a cuddle

This boy used to wear the red collar, and is just one of those puppies that is just lovely to hold as you can't help but give him kisses

This is the boy with two white feet who I had to use Snoop to keep him still for the photo as he is the most active boy in the litter, he is quite small but always manages to be first for a feed!

This is the smallest girl in the litter with one white foot, She holds her own against the other puppies but is the only one that hasn't managed to escape from the whelping box

As you can see the pups have changed in the last week, they now have toys to entertain them after feeding and they are responding well to the other dogs. Martha is on the mend but it has been quite a journey and I have practically camped in the whelping box as I have been very aware that with Martha ill it could have meant the pups suffered. We had a few days where Martha didn't have much milk but she soldiered on and although weight gains were not spectacular none of the pups lost weight so dear Martha has done an amazing job especially under the circumstances. There remains a lot of emails unanswered as I really have not had any spare time to be sat at the PC, but I will catch up I promise.

It has been an exhausting week, as Martha has been unwell with a bad stomach but hopefully we have now turned a corner after several visits/phone calls to the vet and she is slowly on the mend. I hope the pups don't have a memory of this week regarding smells as there has been times that even I felt like I needed a mask and I hate the thought that a bad smell in the future will remind them of their Mother. She is still on her diet of sweet potato and chicken/fish with some extra calcium, but I really hope to get her back to her raw diet in the next 48 hours. Luckily the pups have been unaffected other than the air quality, and have continued to grow and develop as expected which is obvious when you see the photos. Martha is a good Mum as no way can you feel great when food travels through you at such a rate. With Martha improving I hope to answer some emails as it has been a week when the PC has taken a back seat.

Martha and Murdoch puppies have arrived

After so much disappointment over the last year or so I am thrilled to announce the safe arrival of Marthas' second litter. A miracle litter as the Father is a Canadian resident !
So welcome to the world the offspring of
Reeds Fowling Alexia ( Martha ) and  Gr Ch Ex Flacon D'Paris of Neigenuveaux CGN ( Murdoch)
It has been such a journey and the help from Florence Erwin , the breeder of Murdoch has just been amazing, not forgetting the help from her vet and of course a wonderful company in the UK,
The puppies were due on Monday the 6th June, but decided that a Friday was a better Birthday so 6 strong healthy pups arrived between  7.30pm and 9pm, Sadly we have one puppy born stillborn at 10pm and then a late arrival of a healthy puppy at 11.30. So our grand total was 7 puppies, 4 males and 3 females.
We did have a few hiccups as Martha was slow to produce milk but all is well now and pups are close to doubling their birth weight.
So let me introduce them at 1 week old.
